SYNOPSIS
In Hong Kong, the young Bruce Lee is often getting into trouble and is often punished by his martial arts master. Sometime later, Bruce is now living in America and sees an advertisement for a martial arts contest and decides to go along to watch the tournament featuring many fighters from around the world.
With a lack of challengers for the American boxing champion Sammuel Curtis, the organizers look to the crowd for anyone to take on the undefeated boxer. Bruce seizes upon the opportunity and enters the contest himself, only to be treated as a joke by the boxer, and laughed at by the audience.
After a long struggle, Bruce finally manages to beat the boxer. The result of the bout soon causes a national interest in Bruce, and a Hollywood producer offers him a role in a tv series. With a previous bad experience of Hollywood's attitude towards Chinese people, he soon also becomes unhappy with the fact he has to wear a mask to cover his chinese identity in the series. Realizing how discriminate the Hollywood system is, Bruce returns to Hong Kong.
Determined to make movies under his own terms, Bruce visits Hong Kong's biggest studio. With the studio only offering a basic actors fee, he goes to their rivals who quickly offer him a much better deal and put him in front of the cameras to begin shooting movies.
With his big success in Hong Kong, Bruce's wife Linda arrives from the States and they move into they new home together. Also paying him a visit is the Hollywood producer who now wants him to make a new movie with Bruce and giving him total control over the production.
After signing a contract for the American production, Bruce is introduced to some of the fighters who will be involved. To his surprise, one of the fighters turns out to be Sammuel Curtis and he is out to get revenge on Bruce. Following the meeting, Bruce locks himself in his training room and obsessively begins to push himself too hard in practice.
On the set of the latest movie, Sammuel and the other fighters begin to stir up trouble and challenge Bruce to a real fight. Unlike the previous time in America, Bruce is easily able to defeat Sammuel and wins the respect of the other trouble making fighters.
Later that day, Bruce pays a visit to his secret mistress and discusses his plans and dreams. The conversation soon turns as Bruce begins to become more obsessed with improving himself, and also his own mortality.
