SYNOPSIS
On the day that he is due to pick up his employer Mr. Chan from the Airport, Chauffeur Fong Pao (Ho Chung-Tao) is asked to go along to the Police station to answer a few question about his boss. His employer is currently facing a death sentence in Thailand for smuggling drugs. Satisfied that Fong has no knowledge of the smuggling operation, the Police let him go. One of Chan's associates, Kar Gor, is worried that Fong may have mentioned him to the Police and uses a more forceful way of questioning him.
After escaping from Kar Gor's beating, Fong returns home to his mother where the news of his employers drug smuggling and recent arrest is already spreading. With accusations from their neighbours, and pleading from his girlfriend, Fong decides to quit his job as Chauffeur. This is a decision he finds more difficult due to the gratitude he feels to Mr. Chan, and also fondness of his son Shou Lung.
Mr Chan's wife does not seem concerned about her husbands impending death sentence, and even angers the family Lawyer when she refuses to use money on legal fees for the trial. Concerned for Shou Lung's welfare during all this, Fong asks Mrs Chan if Shou Lung can stay with him and his mother for awhile. Not being his real mother, and no real concern for him, Mrs Chan agrees, as she would much rather spend the time with her lover Jimmy.
Before leaving for Thailand, Chan gives Fong a letter to pass along to his Lawyer. When his wife learns of this, she becomes desperate to get it from Fong, as she thinks the letter most likely contains her husbands will.
Meanwhile, drugs baron King Pei Fu (Yasuaki Kurata) wants to find out where Chan could have hidden the drugs, so he offers Fong a new job at his Nightclub, with the assumption that he knows the location.
