Shojiro, the son of a Japanese general, is determined to prove the superiority of Japanese martial arts over the Chinese and challenge Master Yang from the Ching Wu school to a duel. His father does not have that much confidence in his son and sends a group of Ninja to kill the Master first. As ninja's ambush the master, he is helped by Chi-Keung. The master is grateful for his help and offers to let Chi stay at his martial arts school.
Shirojo is angered by his dad interference and is determined to have his duel with the Master. He reluctantly agrees to his sons wishes and send his interpreter to send an official challenge to Master Yang. The master accepts the challenge but due to his injuries from the ninja attack, he is defeated. Shirojo is respectful of the Yang's skills and wishes that they fight again when he is fully recovered. His father however has other ideas and arranges for the master to be poisoned.
Out for revenge for the death of his new master, Chi-Keung battles with Shirojo but the fight is interrupted. Shirojo promises that they will continue the fight another day and leaves for Japan to seek guidance for his master.
Sometime later, Shirojo returns to China, a much different and more brutal person, to reclaim his honor by fighting with Chi-Keung at the great wall.
